March 15 – March 20, 2008
Washington, D.C.

2008 SIR Resident-in-Training Annual Meeting Scholarship

Due to generous corporate sponsorship, SIR is able to offer the Resident-in-Training Scholarship for the 2008 Annual Scientific Meeting in Washington, D.C. This program is open to all first- and second-year radiology residents and is an opportunity to learn about interventional radiology at an early stage in your medical careers. The scholarship will provide reimbursement for travel expenses to the meeting as well as complimentary lodging for two nights.

Selected residents will attend the 2008 meeting on Sunday, March 16th and Monday, March 17th. They will take part in several scheduled educational and networking events and will be given the opportunity to register for other activities in which they are interested. Scheduled events will include an evening dinner symposium where some of IR's most influential leaders will highlight emerging therapies and issues in the specialty, as well as workshops and educational sessions.

Applications will be accepted online from Wednesday, August 1st to Wednesday, October 17, 2007.

The application process requires you to fill out an online application form, upload your CV and a no more than 500 word answer to the short essay question:

"Where do you see the IR profession in 10 years?"

Once you have completed your portion of the application, you will be provided with a link to send to a current SIR member who must submit an online recommendation form for your application to be complete. It is important that you prepare all of your materials (with the exception of the recommendation form which will be filled out separately by a SIR member) before you begin the process. Once information is submitted you will not be permitted to go back into your application.

Questions? Contact Kelly Conner at KConner@SIRweb.org or (703) 691-1805.

The deadline for applications was October 17, 2007.
